Yeast, Fungus, Mold, Staphylococcus Aureus/Epidermidis, Streptococcus Viridans and Faecalis-these are the organisms feeding on the sweat, dirt, blood and mucous on your sports equipment. Proper athletic gear cleaning is crucial to preventing germs and bacteria.
The bacteria, fungi, and viruses that cause skin infections thrive in the sweat, mucous, and blood that get left on athletic gear.
The sweat-filled pads, gloves, shoes, jerseys, and other equipment are a breeding ground for infectious bacteria, that’s easily transferred from person to person, as well as molds and fungus. Diseases like staph, MRSA, impetigo, the flu, and herpes all can be spread from untreated sports gear.
Our Industry Leading Esporta Cleaning System Will Eliminate 99.9997% of Germs & Bacteria from your gear via our Athletic Gear Cleaning process!
Conventional cleaning removes only the surface dirt whereas our system penetrates deeply into the foam and fabric. The Esporta Wash System is a four stage cleaning process that hydraulically pulls the equipment through the cleaning detergents, killing and removing harmful bacteria.
Our Esporta ES 3200 was specifically designed to quickly and efficiently clean, sanitize and dry sports equipment without damaging its integrity.
The First General Athletic Gear Cleaning Process:
- Our trained technicians will perform an initial inspection of the items to be cleaned
- We then enter the equipment/gear into our Esporta ES 3200 machine
- The prescribed amount of our non-caustic and environmentally safe cleaning solution is added
- Upon cycle completion, the equipment moves into our designated drying chamber which is equipped with sophisticated dehumidifiers and air movers

Our certified technicians use Hygiena ATP monitors to test all items after the cleaning process is completed. ATP-Adenosine Triposphate, is an energy molecule found in all plant, animal, and microbial cells which fuels fermentation in yeast and respiration in fungi, bacteria, and mold. Measuring the amount of bioluminescence from an ATP reaction provides a visible RLU (Relative Light Unit) reading on the ATP monitor.
Higher RLU reading = higher level contaminants
The football helmet on the left was measured prior to entering the Esporta Wash System.
The same football helmet on the right was measured after completing the Esporta Wash System.
This process results in clean, sanitized gear/equipment.
The Center for Disease Control recommends that schools and clubs have their sports equipment sanitized at least once per season.
Taking proper care of and disinfecting your sports equipment makes all the difference in extending the life of your gear, preventing smells, and reducing your risk of contracting infectious diseases.
